If you're seeing a lot of unidentified application errors whenever you start up your PC, or during the middle of normal daily activity, chances are you may have registry errors that need fixing. One approach that you can take towards fixing these issues is to try and fix them yourself, but that would require a high knowledge level about the registry and the information that is contained within it. If you do not fit into this category, another option you may have is to use a registry cleaner. One of the benefits of the registry cleaner is the clean up of configuration errors found within your registry. These errors, if left unfixed, can have a degrading affect on the quality of performance that your system is capable of and can often time’s leave you stranded and searching for help in order to get your computer back to a usable condition again. You'll also find that the registry cleaner can help eliminate redundant data found within your system registry.
Many of the different Registry Cleaners available today allow you to make backups of the current settings that you have, so when you or a hired hand is making changes in your registry and the power goes out, you'll have a backup copy of your registry settings before any changes were made. This will allow you to return your computer registry to the state it was in before you starting making changes to it. If this wasn't available and you didn't make a backup copy before starting your changes, you might be faced with even more serious issues because of incomplete data as a result of an abrupt stop in your update process. System restore points are also a good idea when making changes to your registry and should be created any time a major system event is going to take place such as installing new software. This will make it possible for you to restore your system and application configuration settings back to what they were on the date that you created the restore point.
There may also be disadvantages to using Registry Cleaners such as the installation of unwanted malicious software, errors created when the registry cleaner incorrectly identifies a registry entry as an error when in fact it is not an error, and others, so be sure to familiarize yourself with all aspects of the registry cleaner before using one.
